Julien Touati


ARTISTIC DIRECTOR 

Julien Touati discovered Kathakali in 2004. Actor, he was drawn by this sacred art, and decided to learn the complex body movements that makes this narrative dance so typical. In his fourth year of training at Kottakkal in Kerala, Julien Touati feels the need to combine this experience with his own culture, and to develop his apprenticeship within new contemporary dramatic forms.
In 2009, as he founds his company AVS Road, he creates the duet « And I want… » with Kathakali dancers. In 2010 he co-makes “The table with the dogs – Kathakali”, a documentay on Kathakali ’s learning in a traditional school in India. The movie is selected in numerous festivals and is twice awarded.

Denis Teste

MUSICIAN


Musician with a rich and diverse musical background, Denis Teste is a guitar player in various ensembles, from power trio to experimental rock. He is also the founder of In Vivo under the nickname Densio, a band that mixes hip-hop, rock and Indian influences.
He is playing guitar and bass with the poet and musician Saul Williams and writes children oriented audio book around Indian sitar, narrated by Arthur H.
Guitarist with a strong personality and well known sitar player, the part he took in Julien Touati’s work was evident and his presence on stage by his side announces a long and fruitful collaboration.

Film maker ? What could it mean ?

Probably something with images and story. Dive into an universe, and try to communicate by images, sounds and a concept, what I felt about it. That’s what I tried with the first film « Quelque chose en plus », look intensively to the heart of humanity.

I tried again with « La table aux chiens (Kathakali) », be a part of an experience, try to transmit what I felt by being there. Images have the power to make you feel something you had not even imagined.

He is the artistic director of « À part ça Co? » with which he develops trans-disciplinary projects. He operates round trips between the image and the live show by being alternately director, cameraman, editor, photographer, director, actor and stage manager for video, within his own company or by collaborating with others. Camille Garnier

GRAPHIC DESIGNER


After studying design at the Industrial Design School (ENSCI • Paris), Camille Garnier specializes in graphic design and more specifically in global visual identity projects. Since 5 years, she works in freelance with startups, artists, associations or agencies in achieving their global communication, web or print (logo, graphic charter, website, illustration, community management & photography).

Convinced that working together is a great necessity, especially for small companies, she created in 2012 the coworking space Studios Singuliers (75018 Paris) which today, brings together over 100 different skills profiles.
